Divva on a Mission Test of Faith

Okay, I've made to Northern California, we're lodging at my uncles house in Fairfield, CA. I must say it's a breath of fresh air, the people here are so pleasant and guess what? "They Speak"! I have no regrets on traveling to Southern california, all is can say is that I'm going to pray for the people we ran accross. People have been asking what happened and now I'm at the point where I say it's to much to talk about, so now here's my chance to document it. First, I have to give Saaphyri thanks for nominating a wonderful family, who were so deserving of the meal, I prepared for them, I wish I could have done more, I thank God for the oppurtunity of meeting them. After feeding the family, that's when the problems came, rather I say the test, because that's all it was a test, I said upon starting this mission, that I was stepping out on faith so HE challenged me to see if I meant that. I had several emails and phone calls from people who stated by the time I get to LA, they would be making contributions to my mission, either by purchasing groceries, reserving a hotel room for us or making a cash donation, well none of that happened, I always say some people talk a good game, but never show any results! Well, after feeding families, homeless and paying for hotels along the way our funds had exhausted. So, I'm in LA broke, yet humble, because I always know HE has a plan! I decided to go and try to get some assistance, yes the Divva who is assisting people had to go and seek assistance! Well, we get to the first place, sign in and wait two hours, after questioning when we first arrived were we in the right place, well we were not after all, so we had to drive ten minutes to the other office, which was not bad. We get there and sign in, wait three hours to be seen, well when we get to the back, we immediately tell them we are not here for any cash assistance or food assistance, we were told this is the place where we can get emergency shelter (motel vouchers) for the night. We explained we only needed it for one night because we were expecting some money the next day. Well they shut us down, they told me I needed more information to prove I was homeless, and they told Diana, she needed a birth certificate, now I clearly see why the homeless rate is so high! So, after leaving there, I decided to go to one of the cash advance places, there they told me I needed a social security card in order to submit an application, so they directed us to the nearest office to obtain one, which was in the Santa Monica area. We get there park and put our money in the meter, which clearly stated TWO HOUR parking, no where did it state towing of any kind. The meter took enough money for an hour, which meant if we would be more than an hour that we needed to come out and fund it some more change, right! Wrong, after sitting in the Social Security Office for one hour and fifteen minutes, I realized it was time to put more money in, you see the time frame, no ss card yet, well when Diana came back in, the expression on her face let me know something was wrong. Keep in my mind, we set in the ss office past the time that was allowed to submit loan applications. When contacting the towing company, we find that it was in walking distance, so that was a good thing, we figured we could walk there, get some clothes and find a cheap motel until the next day. So as we're walking we're asking people if they knew of an inexpensive motel or hotel in the area, 10% of the people we asked, said no and kept walking, 65% looked at us as if we were trash and walked away and the other 65% did not look our way and kept to their business. During this, Diana starting breathing heavy and caught a headache that would not go away, she's coming down with something, God knows! We arrive to the towing company, explain who we are, what we're doing and trying to get an answer to what happened and why we were towed when we cleary was not in a towing zone. They could not anwser any of our questions and asked if we would hurry and make a decision in ten minutes, because they were closing, so we got some clothes out of the car and asked where the nearest cheapest motel was, because we were not working with alot of cash, they told us that we were in a area that didn't have any hotels or motels and if we caught the bus to one, it would still be far away. Ok, so we're outside of the towing compound did I mention that we didn't have a phone, lol, I'm sorry, carless, phoneless and homeless! Sweet Berry Dee is looking like she is about to pass out, so I thought it would be best if we walk down to the area we saw food, maybe she is just hungry or thirsty, and I saw a Starbucks, so I figure I get online and try to find a motel. After walking a mile, we get to Starbucks and the lady says I'm sorry we're closed early for renovations, oh my, there goes the internet access. Next to Starbucks there is a row of resturants with outside seating, we decided we would split something from Panda King, there is a homeless man out there, chatting and asking for money to any and everybody who walks up. He asked us, if we could help him, usually I can, but you know the story. I tell him, I don't have any funds to help him, but we can save him some of our food to share with him, he was thankful for that. While sitting there, you know we were still asking people for help and directions, to know aval. A security card, who spoke minimal english walked up and tried to help the best to his ability, after realizing we were looking for shelter, he stated he was not familiar with the area, but he had someone who can help us! You would not believe who he came back with, the homeless man! He told us to walk about two miles and we would see a Best Western ducked off under the expressway, see how HE works, what if we would have been rude to him! After walking two and a half miles to be exact, praying and hoping something would give, knowing how expensive Best Western's can be, we arrived to find the nicest person, besides the homeless man and the mexican security card in LA! We explained what happened and who we were, he tried to work with is to the fullest, but with the lowest discount he could do with in reasoning of keeping his job, our money still wasn't long enough to afford it, but he offered to let us sit in the lobby and use there wireless service as long as we needed to. They helped a greatly, I was able to email some people who I failed to realized were in their pj's and either in bed or headed in that direction. Low and behold my angel Blue was still on the computer working, but was actually about to log off and head to bed, thank God for her! She was able to make some phone calls and get in touch with Corey for me. You remember the clerk who I said, allowed us to sit and use their wireless, well he told me to give them the number and he would transfer the call to the lobby where I could speak to them, I thank God for him! So, Blue contacting Corey, I thanked her and told her not to worrry, thanks for everything and go to bed, before she ended the message, she stated don't lose the Faith in GOD! Now, I'm talking to Corey and I'm relieved because I hadn't heard his voice in three days, he's frantic and I'm calming him down "as usual", telling him we are ok and it could be worse. He's on the phone, driving trying to find a Western Union to send me money to cover everything, the clerk over hears our conversation and tells me that there is not a Western Union in the area that is open, they all close around 7pm. So what's next, there is not another hotel or motel in site. At this point, Diana is crying and saying she really does not feel well, and she just wants take a tylenol or something to stop her head from hurting, so I start to pray harder and ask HIM for an answer, boom there it is, I tell Corey to hold on and ask the clerk where is the nearest hospital he directs us to UCLA which is about three miles away, mind you we have been walking all day, while directing us to the ER, he says it's not a good idea to try and walk with Diana's condition and goes in his pocket to give us bus fair without me asking, he said the money we had, we needed to keep it! I get back on the phone and tell Corey the plan, and I tell him to send the money and I'll call from the hospital. So we get to the hospital, check Diana in and I go the waiting area, talk to Corey for a few more minutes and decide to take a nap. Well the nap lasted to the morning, Diana was dehydrating and stressting at the same time, so they had to give her an IV to get her up to par, that lasted to the morning, again see how GOD works, we ended up having a safe place to sleep and she was treated and feeling much better. At this point, I know Corey is wondering what's going on, so I emailed my dear friend Niemiah who called and got the confirmation that the money was sent and he contacted my uncle here and told him we were on our way. We used the ER to our fullest advantage, we took turns in the restroom, cleaning up and changing clothes and ran to the nearest bus stop to retrieve our car. With that after paying $190.00 we were out of LA! Again, I think GOD uses us all for different reasons, for me, it was a challenge to see where my head was with this, if I would not have the FAITH that I said I had upon starting this mission, instead of heading North, I would have been heading back home to my safe haven, my home with my children who I miss dearly and my Corey who I knew missed me before I made to the Georgia border! Instead, it was the answer that I asked GOD before I left, was I really needed and could I do this? He answered me this past week, I had hands on, if someone asked me today, do you know why so many people are homeless or why is the poverty rate so high, I can answer them by saying, because no one cares, I can believe that some people try and make their situation better, but if people walk away without answering them, or look at them like their a piece of trash, what can they do. I thank GOD for allowing me to go thru the challenge last week, I am so happy that I am a witness that through CHRIST, ALL THINGS ALL POSSIBLE! I don't have to recieve a cent from anybody from this point on,I'll continue to walk out on FAITH and at the end of the day I can smile and say I touched some people's lives, because what Diana and I went through aint half the battle of the people we help along the way. With this I love you all and I pray that you do something, so when you meet HIM, he can say well done! Be Blessed & Have a Divvalicious Day!
